Sawing breaks the silence

Continuous cutting...
Here my husband is loyally sawing the logs in half before they’re split by hand. The winter has been hard on us as far as keeping enough wood dry and out of the snow. We wish we would’ve moved this past summer instead of December so we wouldn’t feel so far behind in our cutting and stacking. Most of the wood that we’ve cut is jack pine from a disease-stricken jack pine stand that was cut down a year ago on the property. The wood was left in piles scattered around the premise, but it has been very hard for us to transport to the wood shed without the use of an ATV or truck. This summer we are determined to build a small wood shed on the deck of our home to make it easier to bring inside on cold days.
